Brighton bid to go top of the Championship on Friday night as they entertain Sheffield Wednesday at the AmEx.

Brighton are aiming to recover from a surprise defeat to Preston in their last Championship fixture, a result which saw them slip back down to second in the table.  They’re just a point behind leaders Newcastle coming into this one, and a win against play-off hunting Sheffield Wednesday would see them regain top spot, if only temporarily.

Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over local rivals Huddersfield Town last weekend, extending their unbeaten run to six games, and now just three points separates third and sixth positions in the table.  Carlos Carvalhal’s men would continue their march up the standings should they gain three points on the south coast.

Brighton vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips

Brighton suffered a surprise defeat in their last game, but we don't think there's much chance of that this time out. The visitors will make it difficult for the home side, but we fully expect the Seagulls to come out on top.

  • Anytime Scorer - Tomer Hemed - 9/4

Although Glenn Murray has been the main man in front of goal, Brighton's Israeli forward has got four League goals to his name this season, and can usually be relied upon to find the back of the net given an opportunity. BetStars have him at 9/4 to score anytime.
